Studio recordings

I recently recorded Ian Hunt’s new album, featuring Jay Stapley on guitar (whose credits also include Roger Waters and Mike Oldfield among many others). Ian is regarded as one of the finest finger style acoustic guitarists in the UK.

Some amazing musicians took part to the recording : Martin Ditcham (Chris Rea) on percussions, Steve Pearce (Hamish Stuart, Jim Mullen) on Bass, Nigel Portman Smith (Bert Jansch, Pentangle) fretless Bass…
For more information you can check Ian’s website.

I recently recorded the Wives and Servants new album “Plans for Love”. It has been produced by Jay Stapley (who also plays guitar on it), and features great musicians, among them Steve Pearce on Bass. It was an intense session as I did record all the tunes in one day ! A great way to go straight to the point !!! No time to ask myself questions, I just played the tracks! The music is hard to describe… Perhaps Roger Waters meets Berthold Brecht will give you a clue !

BBC “Play it again”

I have been asked by the BBC to assess celebrity classical singer Aled Jones playing the drums for the programme “Play it again”. He had to play a tune on stage (“Are you gonna go my way” by Lenny Kravitz), in a band situation. I gave him a feedback on his performance.
